H.R.H Prince Hamzah bin AL Hussein








HRH Prince Hamzah was born in Amman on March 29, 1980 to H.M king Hussein and H.M Queen Noor. Prince Hamzah has four brothers and six sisters.
HRH was officially named Crown Prince of Jordan on February 7, 1999 by H.M King Abdullah II upon the death of H.M King Hussein.

HRH Prince Hamzah completed his elementary education in Amman, and later received the General Certificate for Secondary Education from Harrow in the United Kingdom. As a student the Crown Prince was awarded several prizes, including the DOME OF THE ROCK AWARD, by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in 1990, the "History Prize" from Harrow.Following in the footsteps of his grandfather King Talal, his father king Hussien, his brother king Abdullah, HRH Prince Hamzah attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, passing out in December 1999 as a commissioned officer in the Jordan Arab Army.
He was awarded the Sandhurst Overseas cadet who is considered by the Commandant to the best of his course.
He was also awarded the HRH Prince Saud Abdullah Prize which given to the overseas cadet who has obained the best aggregate mark in academic subjects. HRH is currently partaking in the advanced Military training through a rigorous Troop Leaders Course in the United Kingdom aimed at the development of skills and education of future troop leaders.

HRH has been awarded various medals in Jordan.
He received the Grand Cordon of the Order of Al-Nahda in August 1998, the Grand Cordon of the Order of Al-Kawkab Al Urduni in November 1995, and the Al-Hussien Gold Medal for Achievement in July 1995.
He also received the Bahraini Medal of Ahmed Al-Fateh in August 1999.
